Even in gestation, homo sapiens lay waste

as they take up space

in their stretched, wet worlds,

as if to be human means to destroy

that which affords you life—

If they must, the unborn will suck

the very calcium from their mother’s teeth.

But a uterus doesn’t need a bleary-eyed invader

to play double agent or slow assassin.

This is the only convincing evidence

of a male god

of creation: a woman’s body is perfectly designed

to try to kill her.
